This part time course is an all-encompassing, exclusively customized makeup course tailored to cover every aspect of Fashion & Photographic Make-Up. This course is accredited to CIBTAC (Confederation of International Beauty Therapy & Cosmetology).

There has been huge growth in the Irish entertainment and cosmetic industry increasing the employment opportunities of qualified and skilled make-up artists. The cosmetic and film industry place high demands on make-up artists and our course will provide you with the skills required for this exciting and challenging industry. This all embracing creative part time course is specifically designed to completely equip you with the necessary tools to work in all areas of Media Make-up. Your portfolio will prepare you for work in the retail and fashion industry -brands, catwalk, catalogue and editorial. 




During this intensive part time course we will recreate a variety of settings to allow you to experience to real world of a Make-up Artist on a fashion shoot. We give you extra support and guidance in preparing your Portfolio to ensure your work is displayed to the highest standards.

On this intensive makeup course you will cover the following:

* Skincare including maintenance, conditions, contraindications and treatments.

* Hygiene & industry etiquette

* Skin diseases & disorders

* Cosmetic science.

* Anatomy and physiology of the head

* Skin tones and undertones

* Corrective camouflage Techniques

* Complementary shading

* Contouring and highlighting

* Basic lighting techniques

* Daytime makeup

* Evening and occasion makeup

* Bridal makeup

* Fantasy make up

* Period makeup

* Temporary tattooing/Henna

- Hair Styling – to include wigs extension hair etc.



On completion of this course each student will need to sit a written exam as well as present a portfolio inclusive of six different makeup characters they have created. These images will consist of makeup characters covered within the time scale of the course. Assistant and guidance will be provided to help student’s complete portfolio to best of their ability. A portfolio is incredibly important within the makeup industry to portray your makeup skills and assist in applying for work.

This allows you to work worldwide in the following areas:

* Department Stores

* TV, Theatre,

* Fashion Shoots

* Catwalk

Commencement Dates & Examinations Dates:

Examination Date:  TBD                                                        

Examinations: These will consist of:  Multiple choice paper and Practical examinations. You must supply your own models for practise, photo shoots and exams. The college does not provide models.

Duration: This Course will be run every Sunday evening for approx 12 – 14 weeks and 3 Photoshoots. (Time to be arranged)

Extra classes may be added on evenings to accommodate students.

Courses will go ahead if student quota is met. (There must be six students per class).


Cost of course: Tuition Fees: € 1,750.00 


Social Welfare Grant Enabled


Extra Fees: CIBTAC Examination and registration fee’s approx. €140.00

(Optional)Book: “Make-up Artistry for Professional Qualifications” by Julia Conway, approx. €45.00

Students pay the photographer for their photo shoot.

Terms and Conditions: Deposit for the above course is € 500.00 (non refundable).

We will set up a payment plan that will suit you. The course must be paid in full one month prior to you examinations.
